I always thought a combination o...Gong was so good! I always thought a combination of the Mothers, Mahavishnu and Soft Machine all mixed together with some pixie dust. I find it intriguing that half of the original Soft Machine originated in the South Pacific region, Malaysia and Australia.

So I have a William Burroughs anthology by one of his friends James Grauerholz, 'Word Virus'. There's a chapter about the 60's era and the cut ups. I was amazed to read that the young lads Daevid Allen and Terry Riley, 1965, were hanging out with Burroughs and Gysin at the 'Beat Hotel' in Paris, and adding some music to films the fellows were making. There's an excerpt of one on You Tube named 'Towers Open Fire' and the soundtrack does sound suspiciously like something Riley and Allen might come up with.
Gary A Lucashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11212510186968039070noreply@blogger.com
