clarifications/errata: The drummer with The Whole World in May 1970 was Mick Fincher — Robert Wyatt replaced him a few months later. Both Sunbirds and Peter Michael Hammel were from Germany (PMH is still with us). The story of the Eno/Hassell dispute is more complex, I've learned. My Life in the Bush of Ghosts was meant to be a trio album involving the two of them with David Byrne, but the project fell apart over musical direction and logistics. Byrne and Eno carried on, and Hassell felt (and remains) "bitter about what he consider the project's un-credited appropriation of his musical signatures". So perhaps I got it all back-to-front when I suggested that you could still hear Eno's signatures on that subsequent Hassell album... thoughts, anyone? And it seems the Nelson Parade EP release date may have been moved back to September...
